Wilderness First Aid
Participants must have a current certification basic First Aid/CPR/AED. Physically able to get up and down from the ground and perform limited rolls and carry. Please wear old comfortable clothing (having a change of clothes is recommended), expect to get dirty and wet, as parts of the class will be held outdoors. This will result in a 2 year certification through Red Cross, and fulfills GS requirements to act as First Aider on trips more than 30 minutes from 911 response (some long day hikes and backpacking).
Some moulage will be used and may stain. You may wish to bring a change of clothes if needed.
This course prepares you with skills necessary to respond to emergencies when professional help may be delayed or unavailable. Please bring a lunch both days.
