Girl Scout Backpacking Interest Group (BIG) is excited to announce a new season of backpacking activities for the 2024-2025 Girl Scout year. Please see our website www.girlscoutbackpacking.net for the full list of Northern California activities.
Love Hiking and Camping? Want something challenging? Come join The Girl Scout Backpacking Interest Group (BIG) to sleep under the stars! You’ll learn new outdoor and team skills, meet girls with interests like yours, and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. We welcome levels Cadette through (GS-registered) adult. No prior backpacking experience is necessary. We have qualified adults and group gear for each trip as well as individual gear for loan.
Members are required to attend 1.5 hours of training before attending any overnight trip. Once you are trained, you can join us for as many trips as you like. Girls should be capable of carrying a backpack and hiking 3-5 miles for the beginner trips.
