Join USA Girl Scouts Overseas and Val Swan as we explore how a healthy mind leads to a healthy you. We will learn how to:

Val empowers leaders of all ages to show up for their brightest, most authentic selves as an educator, coach, and storyteller. The creation of inspiring and supportive spaces to foster growth and share wisdom, community, and connection is the culmination of her life’s work. As an enthusiastic ambassador and champion invested in your Girl Scout’s highest success, Val believes leader development and learning should be transformative and fun! We’ll explore themes relating to leading self such as authenticity, resilience, vision, values, personal agency and brand, legacy, role models, motivation, family leadership, and much more.
Val has over two decades of diverse experience leading individuals and teams across multiple sectors, including 10 years of world-class leadership development, facilitation, and design training from the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL®), a top-ranked global executive education provider. She served as director of the Young Women’s Leadership Institute, an initiative for middle and high school girls in collaboration with Girl Scouts and CCL, and longtime partner with the YMCA Black & Latino Achievers Leadership and Mentoring Program. She is certified to deliver the Organization Workshop by Power + Systems and the Murphy-Meisgeier Type Indicator for Children® (MMTIC®) psychological type assessment. Recent publications include The Importance of Young Women’s Leadership: Our Story With Girl Scouts and features in Wildfire Magazine.
Val was born with rose-colored glasses on, journeying from surviving to thriving through childhood illness and other serious health conditions. She has lots of practice spinning the most challenging of situations into positive outcomes, and is the voice our Girl Scouts need right now as they navigate life’s many twists and turns! Val is thrilled to have you on this Journey and looks forward to growing together.
